In 5/4 we have been learning about how you could successfully attack a castle during Medieval times and found out that catapults were an effective, destructive weapon.
In pairs we used lollipop sticks, masking tape, rubber bands and paper to construct a real life, working catapult.
First we cut our sticks to the correct sizes. Then we made a base. After this we then made our catapult's arm. Finally we taped a rubber band and a small bucket to the design.
The use of the rubber band meant the catapult had a springy, elastic arm. Perfect for firing ammunition!
Our furthest catapult was Evie's and Sharna's!
Check out our photos and video of the mini catapult in action!
