Some of our third 100 word challenges!

Our third 100 word challenge was this picture, and had to include this sentence:

...the weather changed for the worst...

Here are some of our attempts:

We were sailing slowly across the blue sea, the waves were wildly scattering across the sea. The pirates were drinking large amounts of rum, one of the pirates fell overboard as the boat shattered against the lashing waves. In a flash the weather changed for the worst. The pirates shouting orders in panicked voices, “tie the riggings!” shouted pirate cocklebeard in a gravely, croaky voice. “I can’t hear you over this storm!” shouted Salty the pirate. The angry sea splashed overboard as the ship lurched quickly sideways. Screams could be heard as the ship seemed to launch itself into the air.

Becky was sitting on a rock, under some palm trees. She was gazing out, looking at the ships. “I hope a storm doesn’t brew. The ships will be in danger. And me!” Becky exclaimed. The sky rumbled angrily, and then, suddenly, the weather changed for the worst… The palm trees blew over, and Becky only just dodged them. “Oh!” She gasped, squinting her eyes. The ships glided around, but finally reached the shore. The sailors scuttled off, as the sky crackled with thunder, lightning flashing over-head. The wind howled, piercing Becky’s ears…
As quickly as the storm arrived, it was calm again, with fantastic sunshine.

One sunny day Tom went to the beach with his family. Tom was four years old and he was brave. Tom said to his mum “can I have an ice cream?”. Mum said “yes, Holly will take you”. “Thank you Mum” said Tom. They arrived at the ice cream van Tom chose chocolate for his ice cream. The sun was so bright his ice cream was starting to melt already. In a flash everyone felt rain on them, even the lifeguards ran for cover. The weather changed for the worst as Tom and Holly quickly ran for shelter.

It was a lovely, bright day and the sun was shining brightly in the crystal, clear sky. My mum, dad, brother, sister and I were setting out on a lovely bike ride in the sun. Suddenly the weather changed for the worst and the sun started to fade away. We were far away from home. The sun was hiding behind the dark, black clouds. The birds stopped tweeting, the trees stopped rustling and the grass stopped twisting and turning in the breeze. It turned ice cold in the breeze, which made us shiver. Suddenly there was a loud BANG and thunder started rolling across the sky.
